About Prince William Campus of McLean Bible Church
Welcome to the website for the Prince William Campus of McLean Bible Church. Our vision is to make an impact on secular Washington with the message of Jesus Christ; and in January 2009 we bring the McLean Bible Church experience to Prince William County. We are a multi-campus Christian church working to accomplish our vision as “one church with multiple locations.” Our long term goal is to build a “spiritual beltway” around the Washington, DC Metro Area by opening MBC campuses in the communities surrounding DC. Each campus is a fully functioning church community with live worship, small groups, McLean University, ministry for kids, teens, and students, a dedicated staff team, and a satellite broadcast message from our Senior Pastor Lon Solomon.
Since September of 2006, we have opened three new campuses: Frontline Arlington, the Internet Campus; and MBC Loudoun. We are thrilled to announce plans to open a fourth campus in Prince William County in early 2009. Preparations for the new Manassas church are already underway and we need an army of volunteers to first of all PRAY for us and also to help us spread the news to folks who live in the area. About live video sermons.
Our goal in preaching and teaching the Gospel is to reach as many people as possible with the message of Jesus Christ. To do this we have adopted a campus strategy that serves each campus with a live satellite feed of the weekly sermon. Each campus is a fully functioning church community with live worship, small groups, McLean University, ministry for kids, teens, and students, and a dedicated staff team. The message from Senior Pastor, Lon Solomon, is broadcast to the campus via live streaming video. This provides a strong core teaching throughout all the campuses while at the same time, providing the community atmosphere of a small church where the campus pastor is freed from the responsibility of preparing a weekly message. This gives the campus pastor more time to minister to each campus and contextualize the church to the communities they serve. It also provides an excellent opportunity to redeem technology in the service of our Lord.
Throughout the history of the church technology has changed the way the Gospel has been delivered, without changing the message of the Bible. From Paul's letters to the churches, to radio and television, and now the internet, technology can be an instrument to reach more and more people with the good news of the Bible. Historically, there has always been opposition to change and the introduction of new technology in the preaching the Gospels, but the test is always in the fruit of the efforts. These technologies, when used for the Kingdom, have had tremendous impact. This is our goal with the live video sermons: to have an impact for the Kingdom.

McLean Bible Church’s Senior Pastor
Lon Solomon - Senior Pastor
Lon Solomon was born and raised in a Jewish home in Portsmouth, VA. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a chemistry major. While in college, Lon's life became a relentless search for meaning and purpose. He sought to fill the void he felt on the inside with fraternity life, partying, gambling, and even developed a serious drinking problem. When all this failed to supply the inner peace he was seeking, Lon became deeply involved in drugs, both as a user and a distributor. He turned to ''spiritual'' things at this point, diving into psychedelics, Eastern religions and even attempting a return to mainstream Judaism. But all this failed to resolve his inner turmoil and he decided that suicide was the only reasonable way out. It was at this time that Lon met a street evangelist in Chapel Hill who began to talk to him about Jesus Christ. As a result of months of interaction with this man, Lon made the decision to accept Jesus as his personal Savior and Messiah in the spring of 1971. Lon is a marvelous example of God's transforming power in action. Subsequent to his decision to accept Christ, Lon was able to quit the drug and alcohol abuse that had plagued his life for years. He went on to graduate from Capital Bible Seminary in Old Testament with highest honors. He then did his graduate work at Johns Hopkins University in Near Eastern Studies. He taught Hebrew and Old Testament at Capital Bible Seminary from 1975-1980. In 1980 Lon became the senior pastor at McLean Bible Church, where he has served for over 20 years.
